What makes a loss a disaster
Most restoration jobs involve one type of damage. Disasters involve several. A severe storm may tear off roofing, drive rain into the attic, drop a tree onto a wall and knock out power so sump pumps fail. A fire leaves burn damage, smoke residue and thousands of gallons of firefighting water. These situations overwhelm a normal repair approach because every problem affects the others.
Disaster restoration in Smithers, WV means managing that complexity. Mold PE Services assigns a coordinator who sees the whole property, sequences the work correctly and keeps you informed as the project moves through each stage.
Stabilizing the property
The first priority is preventing further loss. Roofs are tarped, openings boarded, water extracted and drying started. Where structural damage is present, we identify unsafe areas and coordinate with engineers or other specialists before entry or work continues.
We then document everything thoroughly. Photos, moisture readings, contents inventories and damage descriptions build the record that insurance adjusters, lenders and in some cases public assistance programs will need. Good documentation early saves weeks of back-and-forth later.
Sequencing recovery
Recovery follows a logical order: protect, clean, dry, repair. Soot must be removed before surfaces are sealed. Structures must be dry before walls are closed. Roofing must be secure before interior finishes go in. Getting this order wrong leads to repeated work and delays.
We run these phases in parallel where it is safe and efficient, and in sequence where it is not. Throughout, you have one number to call and one person accountable for progress. Homeowners, landlords and business owners in Smithers, WV rely on this structure when the damage is too large to manage alone.
